Subtitle
Burnt-in timecode: the only effect that reads the frame clock.
Controls
- size
- Type size in source pixels. The caption belongs to the frame and travels with it into any output size
- position
- Bottom is a subtitle, top is the service line of a work print. They have different jobs, and an operator looks for them in different places
- fps
- Frames per second. A timecode counts frames, not fractions of a second, and without this the last pair of digits means nothing
- box
- Opacity of the plate behind the text. Broadcast timecode always has one, because without it the text vanishes on a bright frame
- safe area
- Draws the safe-area frame — the ninety per cent that titles stay inside, because the viewer’s edges may be cut off
- contrast
- A number from -1 to 1, 0 by default.
- ink
- A colour, #ffffff by default.
