The picture cut into tonal sheets and pulled apart in depth.
Controls
- levels
- How many sheets — which is also how many tonal steps, since each step gets one sheet and there is no other way to part them
- gap
- How far apart the sheets stand. At zero they lie in one plane and the picture reassembles itself
- front
- Which end of the tonal scale comes towards you: light or dark. Two answers to what counts as the foreground
- tilt
- How steeply you look at the stack. Nearly flat on, the sheets almost line back up into the picture
- turn
- A number from -60 to 60, 14 by default.
