Geometry

Droste

The picture inside itself, spiralling inward without end.

Droste: a geometry effect on the built-in sample photograph. Computed on your machine right now.

Controls

ratio
How much smaller each turn is than the last. This is what decides how fast the picture disappears into itself
turns
How many turns the spiral makes while the picture shrinks by that ratio. At zero it is not a spiral but nested rings
centre x
A number from 0 to 1, 0.5 by default.
centre y
A number from 0 to 1, 0.5 by default.
zoom
How close the picture is taken in the widest turn. Above one only its middle falls into the funnel
rotate
Turns the finished picture, the way you would turn a print in your hands. The spiral shape itself is unchanged
