Tape warp
Stretched tape: the line drift wanders down the frame and the colour lags behind.
Controls
- stretch
- How far the rows wander, which is what stops vertical lines from being vertical
- slack
- The length of tape over which the tension changes. A slowness knob, not a frequency: stretched tape has no period
- chroma bleed
- Smears the colour sideways on its own. Colour is recorded on a narrower band than brightness and suffers first
- dropouts
- Share of rows where the head lost contact entirely and the colour went to a white streak
